Week Two Computer Art Blog

1. My primary is located in the bottom left hand corner. It is actually two images. My tertiary is located in the top left hand corner. I have not created my secondary image yet, but i will be putting it in the top right hand corner.
2. In establishing my primary i used bright bold colors, and i also made the images large to draw more attention to them. They are also definite shapes an i have my primary as two images to make them grab more attention. I challenged myself by putting my primary in the bottom left hand corner because a viewers eye naturally wants to go to the top right hand corner. I established my tertiary by using a color that doesn't contrast greatly with its background. It is also an indefinite shape. This image has three parts to it, but they are about a quarter of the size of my primary. For my secondary i am going to use a brighter color, possibly a purple, but have it dark enough that it will not clash with my primary. It will be medium size and i am going to make my brush hardness about 60% so that it an indefinite shape but is also slightly defined.
3. My favorite part of my artwork right now, is the background, where i have a double lighting strike surrounding my primary image. I like that it calls attention to the primary image and it highlight it even more because the strikes are a sliver which contrast on the black background. To do this i used a brush that had a different texture to it and slowly moved it around to create a lighting bolt look.
4. My least favorite part about my artwork right now, is my tertiary peace. I do not like that it is such a darker color, because i like bright colors. I also don't find it as interesting as the rest of the artwork. I wish i could use a different color, something a little less gloomy. It is also a hard image because it was hard to add layer to it without it overtaking the primary image.
5. The next step in my artwork is to add me secondary image, i am going to add it in the top right hand corner. After that i am going to continue to add layers to my images and create more interesting artwork.
6. I am using blending by adding different color to my images and then combining them to make it more interesting. When i add different colors i use a very low harness to create a more indefinite shape.

Computer Art Week1 Post

The element of emphasis represented in this image is size. In images like this, viewers are generally naturally drawn towards larger objects, however some viewers are drawn to extremely small images. I made a larger dot by adjusting the diameter of my brush. I then made a very small dot by decreasing the size of the brush. Then i made a dot that was in between the other sizes. My goal was that the eye would either be drawn to the extremely small image or the larger image. I think i was successful because when i look at the image my eye is naturally drawn to the larger dot and because i followed the principle of size which helped me successful in this work.
The element of emphasis represented in this image is placement. The eye is drawn to objects at the top of a work first and then moves from left to right, similar to reading a book. I used the same size brush and same color then created three dots. I put on in the middle of the page, hoping it would catch the eye first. Then put one in the bottom left corner, hoping that would be the second image and put another dot in the lower right corner. I think in this work of art i was successful because i followed the principle, which should draw the eye to the image in the center. My eye is naturally drawn to the middle image.

The element of emphasis represented i color. The eye is naturally drawn to colors that contrast its background greatly. I choose to use a light grey background. I then put a dot that was bright blue, so that the eye would be naturally drawn to that first. I then made a darker grey and a light purple dot, in hopes that they would be a secondary focus of the image. I was successful in this image because i created one figure that stands out more than the others because of the color contrast. When i look at this image my eye is drawn to the bright blue dot, which leads to me to believe i was successful.

The image above is a representation of indefinite versus definite shapes. The idea is that forms with more definite lines draw the eye to them before objects that have indefinite shapes. I did this by taking my brush and adjusting the hardness of the brush, the harder the brush the more definite shapes it makes and the softer the brush the more indefinite shapes that it will make. I think that i was successful in accomplishing having one object stand out more than the other two, by creating a more definite shape, it allows the image in the bottom right to stand out more. I think i was successful because when i look at this image my eye is naturally drawn towards it.
